Kelly Shaw M.S.O.M., LA.c is a licensed acupuncturist who graduated with highest honors from NCNM.

Kelly’s utilizes a holistic approach that first seeks to isolate important factors hampering the vitality of the patient. He acknowledges that disease may enter the body on any level, physical, mental/emotional, or spiritual, external or internal, and that restoring vitality also requires working with all levels. He works to remove the impediments that prevent one’s natural vitality from restoring itself. 

Central to Kelly's healing philosophy is honoring the body’s innate intelligence.  The symptoms of disease are often a physiological compensation for deeper patterns of wounding or dysfunction. As such, the ways we compensate need to be honored for how they are in service to the total being, and correcting the imbalance requires finding a more functional and healthier pattern, not just abolishing the behavior or symptoms resulting in the immediate discomfort.  Our disease and discomfort can be gateways to realizing deep unmet needs on every part of our being.  Often we must become comfortable in our discomfort or come to face the deeper more authentic sources of our suffering to make more meaningful changes in our lives.  In this way we can cease medicating or avoiding the truth of our experience and start living more full and authentic lives in acceptance of our total self. Facing these potentially dark places with compassion, empathy and steadfastness is one of Kelly’s great gifts.  

Kelly is trained in classical Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicine derived from the Nei Jing and Shang han za bing lun.  His approach to treatment is informed by osteopathic techniques such as craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation, somatic based psychology and trauma work derived from somatic experiencing, bodynamics, psychosynthesis, and other body centered forms of mental and emotional therapy.  He treats pain, musculoskeletal conditions, neurological problems, trauma and mental/emotional issues as well as internal disease and chronic conditions.  

Kelly is currently in network with most health insurance companies.
